It is a large-sized hollow clay figure and well known for its high quality comparable to the snow goggle clay figure excavated from the Kamegaoka Ruins in Aomori, which is widely known through textbooks. Large crown-shaped projections like clouds of spray are placed on the large head. The extraordinarily big eyes and protruding shoulders and hips with short arms and legs look humorous. The entire body is decorated by making full use of the surikeshijomon technique, which enhances the effect of decoration by separating the area with a jomon pattern from the area without a pattern and by arranging cloud-like complicated patterns in a point/line-symmetric manner. Moreover, the decoration is further highlighted by painting the entire body, centering on the head, red. \nShakokidogu, which demonstrate the Jomon people's distinctive design sense and molding capability, continue to attract people even now. 토우는 조몬 시대 만기 전반에 도호쿠 지방에서 활발히 제작된 차광기(遮光器) 토우라 불리는 것으로, 안이 비어 있고 크기가 크다. 교과서 등에도 자주 등장하는 아오모리 현 가메가오카(亀ヶ岡) 유적에서 출토된 차광기 토우와 어깨를 견줄 정도의 뛰어난 작품으로 잘 알려져 있다. 다소 큰 머리에는 물보라가 치는 듯한 왕관 모양의 돌기가 나 있으며, 인간이라 할 수 없을 정도로 큰 눈과 돌출된 양 어깨와 허리, 그리고 짧은 팔다리가 익살스럽게 느껴진다. 조몬(새끼줄 무늬)과 민무늬 부분을 나누어 장식 효과를 높이는 마소(磨消) 조몬 기법을 구사하였고, 구름과도 같은 뒤얽힌 무늬를 선대칭이나 점대칭으로 배치하여 몸 전체를 장식하였다. 그에 더하여 머리를 중심으로 몸 전체를 붉게 채색하여 장식적인 면에서 강한 인상을
