This Konron mask represents "Konron-do," who was brought to China from Southeast Asia as a slave. Due to the recognition of the time that Konron-do was a man like a malevolent demon, it has animal-like pointed ears, large fang teeth and a face painted in dark brown, which is just like a devil with a fierce look.
In the scenario of Gigaku, Konron is a lecherous man who makes advances on a young beauty Gojo and is punished by Rikishi, which is thought to imply that Rikishi, who is a guardian of Buddhism, makes the heathen surrender.
