This is an urn made of cast copper in the shape of a sphere with a round bottom. Its large mouth stands almost upright. It is capped with a lid that has a flat gem-shaped knob in the center. While the entire surface is coated with gold and some parts still shine nicely, a patina has developed on most parts.
This urn was accidentally found in a steep slope to the west of Kamoriji Temple in 1945. When it was found, there was no mound or stone/wooden container found. Since there was a one-square-meter patch of clay with rubble and this area was relatively soft, it may be that the urn was dug out once and then re-buried.
