Minamoto no Ienaga (d. 1234) was a poet of the Kamakura period (1185-1333). As the Recording Secretary of the Court Poetry Bureau, he also served as a compiler for the New Collection of Japanese Poems of Ancient and Modern Times (J., Shin kokin wakashu). Ienaga composed this poem for a harlot. It is an invaluable piece in that almost no other example of its kind exists.
