This is a painting of Taikung Wang fishing while sleeping. Taikung Wang was a famous Chinese sage whose real name was Iu Shang. There is nothing extraordinary about the scene at first glance, but we soon notice that all the lines lead our eyes to the center of Iu Shang's body. This is a good example of Korin’s (1658-1716) fine sense of design and composition.
