Nijo Tameaki (1295 – 1364) is a son of Nijo Tamefuji (? – 1324) and a poet. Although he was appointed as a selector for the "Shin Shui Wakashu," he died before the completion of the anthology and Ton'a (a poet in the North and South Courts period, 1289 – 1372) took over the role. Among Tameaki's writings, "Eiso" with his autograph (in private possession) still remains, which shows the influence of the Hosshoji and Teika schools.
This book has a postscript stating that this copy was made in 1324, another postscript stating that instruction was received from Nijo Tameyo and Tamesada and the original postscript written by Fujiwara no Sadaie (1162 – 1241) on July 23, 1223.
