This is a transcription of a book that is said to have been written by Abutsu in the mid-Kamakura period. It is bound together with "Takakurain Shokaki" and was possessed by the Sakakibara family and then by Kanazawa-Bunko Museum. This is a travelogue from March 19, 1180, when ex-Emperor Takakura left Kyoto after abdicating the throne to Emperor Antoku on February 21, to his visit to Itsukushima Shrine of Miyajima in Aki country via land and sea to April 9, 1180, when he came back to Kyoto, which was written by the head of his retainers, Minamoto no Michichika (1149~1202), in kana. This book served as a reference to the Itsukushima Goko (imperial trip to Itsukushima) in the `Tale of the Heike `(Kakuichi-bon). Minamoto no Michichika is also called Tsuchimikado Naidaijin (vice chamberlain). His father, Masamichi, was also a vice chamberlain and his mother was the daughter of Fujiwara no Yukikane (Naganobu). His last rank was Shonii Naidaijin, and he acquired power by serving seven emperors from Goshirakawa to Tsuchimikado. His adopted daughter, Zaishi (Shomeimonin), married Emperor Gotoba and their son became Emperor Tsuchimikado. He held Hitomaro Eigu Utaawase (poem contest in memory of Kakinomoto Hitomaro) in his own house. He was the judge for "Iwashimizusha Utaawase". He served as the theme master at "Sengohyakuban Utaawase" and a judge, but he passed away before passing judgment. Possessed by Umezawa Memorial Museum, it was also called "Tsuchimikado Naidaijin Nikki". The transcription was designated an important cultural property on July 4, 1938.
