　This is a document issued by the Todaiji Construction Office (Zo Todaiji Shi) on April 21, Tempyo Shoho 7 (755) asking Kohfukuji Temple to proofread 230 copies of sutras (kangyo). It had been originally kept in the Shoso-in.
　The writer of this document is Kurehara no Ikuhito (呉原生人), who was the head of the Scriptorium (Shakyo sho). Other signatures include Saeki no Ima-Emishi (佐伯今毛人), the director of the Todaiji Construction Office and Kurehara no Ikuhito at the end of the text. The 230 copies of sutras are categorized in a sutra wrapper (chitsu) and it is stated that the first 96 copies were at the request of the Royal Household of Empress Komyo (Shibi chudai) and the latter 134 copies were from the Bureau of Sutras and Books (Zusho ryo). There is an explanatory note about the latter copies, stating that they were, together with their wrappers, from the Tang dynasty of China. In addition, there is a description of the color of paper used, the cover and the roller, which provides some knowledge about the bookbinding of the manuscripts of sutras at that time.
　The text of this document is rather long among other “Shoso-in documents” and thus it is valuable as a document issued by the Todaiji Construction Office that has survived in its complete form.
