This mask is important material for understanding the production process of the masks used for Gigaku (a lost ancient masked theatrical performance).
Its eyes, nose and the wrinkles on its face are almost finished, but its ears have been left without much carving, making it look like a piece of wood jointed on the face. It is quite a contrast to N-238.
