Maria Kannon is a statue worshiped by Christians and resembles other statues of the Virgin Mary. It is a statue of the goddess Kannon made with white porcelain, which was mass produced in Dehua (Tokkayô) Kilns in Fujian in China and also exported to Japan. These statues were confiscated during the third crackdown on Christians (Urakami Sanban Kuzure) at Urakami Village (current Nagasaki City) in 1856 (the 3rd year of the Ansei era). C-606 is known to have belonged to a doctor named Shunmin at Yono Village and it is one of the best-preserved items of all the statues.
